On the old harbourside you’ll find cooking demos by top chefs Lesley Waters, Ed Baines, Shaun Rankin, Mat Follas, Alex Aitken, Giles Thompson, Silla Bjerrum, Richard Bertinet, John Wright, Duncan Lucas as well as many local chefs. Also appearing is John Wright, River Cottage’s foraging expert.
The Dorset Young Seafood MasterChef of the Year Competition will be judged by restaurateur Mark Hix. Other events include Fish Tucker Trials, filleting demos, champagne and wine matching demos, fresh fish auctions and book signings by the famous chef authors. There’ll be over 70 stalls selling both seafood and a range of associated goods.
Don’t miss the opening event at 10.30 on Saturday – the Cross Harbour Oyster Challenge. Up to 30 swimmers brave the cold water in Weymouth Harbour, race across it, down an oyster washed down with a glass of champagne! The Saturday will close with the ‘Moving Tides’ community procession.
