Wild Food – Mortimer Country Food Fair

Saturday 9 July – Manor Farm Barns, Brampton Bryan, Herefordshire, SY7 0DH

Who hasn’t enjoyed eating food found out on walks, like mushrooms, mussels or blackberries? Best-selling local author John Lewis-Stempel has given this festival its theme for this year – Wild Food.

John spent a year living on food that he had foraged or killed and he will be talking about ‘The Wild Life’, the book he wrote chronicling his experiences. He’ll also be cooking up a storm using ingredients found whilst out and about foraging that day!

There’ll be over 50 exhibitors to enjoy, a purpose-built demonstration kitchen, children’s activities as well as an outstanding selection of local food, drinks and crafts producers.

To complement the Wild Food theme there will be delicious cherries grown just outside Dilwyn, the chance to sample the fantastic range of beers from the Ludlow Brewery, local ciders, cheeses and apple juices. Award-winning young chef Sam Bruce will be there with his Scrummy Bites, as will be the Cottage Herbery with their award-winning herbs and plants.

This is a great day out on the borders of Herefordshire and Shropshire where England meets Wales! Entry:£1.00 + free car parking. More info: http://www.mortimercountryfoodfair.co.uk/
