1-3 July 2011- Port St Mary, Port Erin, Gansey, Isle of Man
The Manx Queenie – otherwise known as a queen scallop – is such a delicacy it has its own festival. Come to the Isle of Man 1-3 July for fishing tours, seafood barbecues, sailing lessons, live music, lots of activities centred around the beach, a cooking demo from Henrietta Green and of course, to eat plenty of Manx Queenies.
The festival kicks off with a free beach party on the Friday night. If you love seafood you won’t want to miss the Seafood Extravaganza on the Saturday night. It’s held on Port St Mary’s quayside and it’s a night of fine dining and dancing. Tuck into a delicious seafood buffet starring the delicious Manx Queenie and prepared by acclaimed chefs. Then dance your two-tone socks off to local ska band, Bunch Skankers. More info: http://www.queeniefestival.com/
