National Bramley Apple Week

Sunday 6th – Sunday 13th February 2011

1809 – the first Bramley tree grew from pips planted by a young girl, Mary Ann Brailsford, in her garden in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England. It was to be the start of millions of apple pies, crumbles and tarts. Celebrate the nation’s favourite cooking apple and a true British icon this week with events up and down the country.
