This caught my eye because I’m about to start my annual ritual of pickling shallots. It’s a festival of chutneys, pickles, preserves, condiments, esoteric jams and jellies. And all the stuff they go so well with – cheeses and smoked and preserved meat and game. For the energetic there’s tomato hurling and pumpkin rolling. With lots of stuff for kids, and hog roasts to stuff yourself with. If food on film turns you on they’ll
be screening the best of food cinema, including Chocolat and Babette’s Feast. There’s live music too. The whole thing’s hosted by food celebs Henrietta Green and Jane Fearnely-Whittingstall. All profits go towards the Gurkha Welfare Trust. More info: www.oneworldonechutney.com
